Certificate Issuance and Usage Policy

Purpose
This document provides clarity on how food handler certificates are issued and used by students, regulatory authorities, health department officials, external entities, and EduClasses® staff.


Scope

Food handler certificates are issued to students upon completion of the FHC® Food Handler Classes food handler course, following the outlined requisites.

Definitions

  • Certificate: A document issued after completing the online course material and passing the online exam.
  • Certificate Issuance: The delivery of a certificate via FHC® Food Handler Classes' online training service.
  • Certificate Usage: The intended use of the certificate by the student to meet regulatory health officials' requirements.
  • Successful Completion: Achieving the required passing score on the online exam, as defined by health department officials, state laws, regulations, or legislative documents.
     

Requisites for Course Completion and Certificate Issuance
Certificate issuance is at the sole discretion of DSBWorldWide, Inc. dba EduClasses®. The certificate issued after successful completion of the FHC® Food Handler Classes program is non-transferable and intended solely for the recipient.

To receive a certificate, the following conditions must be met:

1.  Registration:

  • The student must sign up, complete their profile, and create a login and password.

2. Course Enrollment:

  • The student must purchase the course or use bulk access codes provided through a group order.

3. Course Completion:

  • The student must read and study all course materials.
    • Each section is marked "Studied" when the timer reaches zero.
    • Once all sections are marked "Studied," the student may proceed to the next steps.
  • The student must complete all required knowledge checks.

4. Assessment:

  • The student has three opportunities to pass the final assessment.
  • The student must achieve the minimum passing score.

5. Certificate Issuance:

  • Once the assessment is passed, the student will receive a certificate.
  • The certificate can be accessed for viewing or printing at any time during its validity period.

6. Certificate Expiration:

  • After expiration, the student must repurchase and pass the course to receive a new certificate.

7. Fraud Prevention:

  • Certificates will not be issued if there is evidence of cheating or fraudulent behavior.


Certificate Usage

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Certificate usage is dictated by health department officials, state or local laws, or legislative documents.
  • Non-Credential Status:
    EduClasses® dba FHC® Food Handler Classes does not grant credentials or acronyms to students completing its certificate programs.
  • Employer Verification:
    Students must present their certificate to their employer, and a copy must be kept at the place of employment.
  • Certificate Access and Reprinting:
    Students can print their certificate upon course completion.
    Certificates can be reprinted from FoodHandlerClasses.com at any time while valid. Common reasons for reprinting include change of employment or loss of the original certificate.
